Glendale Lyceum, 865 Congress Avenue - C.1891

The Glendale Lyceum is located at 865 Congress Avenue. The Lyceum was founded as a private club intended to promote education and social relations among members and to provide literary, musical and social entertainment for members and the Village of Glendale and its vicinity. A building on the property now used as the Squash Court was originally located on the grounds of the Stanley Matthews House at 125 Fountain Avenue East. From there it was moved to 20 Ivy Avenue and then to the Lyceum.
