First Presbyterian Church, 155 East Fountain Avenue - C.1856

The First Presbyterian Church was organized at a meeting in the Glendale Female College in 1855. In 1860, the members erected the first church to be built in Glendale. A second larger church with a nave, chancel and pipe organ was built in 1873 adjacent to the original structure. The church, designed by A.C. Nash, reflects the Gothic Revival style of the original chapel. The exterior of the church was restored in 1973 exposing the original brick surface.
