Swedenborgian Church, Church of the New Jerusalem, 845 Congress Avenue - C.1861
The Swedenborgian Church became the third church organized in Glendale. Construction began on the church on Good Friday, March 29, 1861. I was built on land donated by Charles Henry Allen, who was a strong supporter of the church all his life. The church was designed by architect Peter Mullett, in close cooperation with the Reverend James P. Stewart, the pastor of the Glendale group.
